We have a total of 8 runners today between Listowel and Laytown.

Listowel

We send out two representatives in the Exchange Inn & Kevins Bar Irish EBF Maiden. MAKER OF KINGS has been place on both of his starts over the same distance. He’s a progressive type and all being well we would expect to see him finish in the frame again today under Billy Lee. PRAISE YOU is making his second appearance on the racecourse. He finished near the back of the field on his debut but has come on well for the run and the slight step back in trip might suit him better. Gary Halpin rides.

NAVIGATE BY STARS runs in the Seamus Mulvaney Bookmaker Handicap. This is her first start since joining the yard back in August. The Sea The Stars filly has had 8 career runs to date and was victorious at Pontefract back in May over a slightly further distance. Most of her runs have been on good / good to firm ground so it will be interesting to see how she handles a softer surface today. Gary Halpin takes the ride.

In the feature race, the Guinness Kerry National, we send 4 runners down to post. A TOI PHIL is a regular runner in these big handicaps. He finished 4th last time out behind Yorkhill and we wouldn’t be surprised if he ran a big race today under Jack Kennedy. BARRA looked to have the race in the bag when falling at the last in Kilbeggan back in July. The trip shouldn’t be a problem for her and we have booked Hugh Morgan to ride who claims a valuable 7lb. SWINGBRIDGE took home the Killarney National back in May. He’s another horse who on a good day is capable of running a big race. He carries a low weight of 9st13lb today and Andrew Ring is in the saddle. RAVENHILL (pictured) has had a great season so far. Out of 5 runs he has only finished out of the placings once. His last appearance saw him finish 5th behind stablemate Borice in the Galway Plate. He had a short break after Galway and comes into todays race fresh and well. Denis O’Regan is in the saddle.

Laytown

HOUSE CALL runs in the Gilna’s Cottage In Pride Of Place Maiden over 7f. This is the fillies first run for us since joining the yard from Peter Fahey. We’ve dropped her back slightly in trip and taken the headgear off. Declan McDonogh rides.
