It might be the end of October but it’s the start of a very busy weekend here at Cullentra. Today we will be sending 6 horses to Clonmel before descending on Down Royal and Cork over the weekend.

We open proceedings with ARD ABHAINN in the Chair Mares Maiden Hurdle over 2m3f. She is a filly with a bit of class as she finished 4th in a Listed bumper last time out. She’s had a bit of schooling at home and we hope she can open her account over jumps the same way she did in her flat races. Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

In the next race, the Cashel Maiden Hurdle, ENNEMI PUBLIC will be running for the first time over hurdles a job he was made for. He has done well over the summer holiday and we hope this brings about some improvement in him. We have booked Keith Donoghue to ride.

There is a gap of one race before HOLY MOTIVATION embarks on the Memorial Handicap Hurdle over 3m. She carries a nice weight here, especially with the addition of 7lbs claimer Kevin Brogan on board. Kevin enjoyed his first winner of the season on Surin last weekend and we hope the pair can add to that.

We’ve one runner in the Clonmel Oil Chase Day Nov 14th Mares Chase as TINTANGLE go forward. Tintangle had a lovely first run out last time going away by 2l, Rachel Blackmore has been booked to ride. Barra is now a non-runner.

For the final race of the meeting we have bargain buy TIGER TWENTY TWO. This horse has been a great little warrior since coming to the yard for their owners. He will be top weight for this event so we’ve put Jamie Codd on board to give him the best chase. This horse has been great fun and we hope he continues to be that for his owners.

We wish all the horses and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.
