It’s a cold start to the day here at Cullentra as we load up to go down to Clonmel, however it’ll be a nice day for our staff going racing as our last runners come in the 4th race on the card. In total we have 4 runners today in three races at Clonmel.
Our first runner is FLYING RISK in the Mares maiden hurdle, the opening race. We stepped her up in class last time out after a good bumper win and we’ve decided to put her over hurdles now. The addition of obstacles should help her and Daryl Jacob has flown over for the ride.
We don’t have anything for the second race and we move on to the feature of the day, the Munster Hurdle. Here we have one runner in the four runner field, FEROCIOUS. It was great to get a win out of this horse last time out in Tramore when he had blinkers on for the first time. They’re back on again here and the small prize money means we’ll hopefully come away with a bit of money as long as he finishes the race. Jack Kennedy will take the ride.
Finally we have two runners in the Monroe Maiden Hurdle, FANCY FOUNDATIONS and GOLDEN NOMAD. Fancy Foundations has posted two reasonable results in bumpers so far and moves up to go over obstacles. The ground was probably a bit on the soft side for him last time and hopefully he’ll enjoy this more. Jack Kennedy will ride. Golden Nomad might have found the trip last time a bit sharp so we’ve put him back up to 2m 3f. Robbie Power has been booked for the ride and we hope he’s the key to getting this horse on the right track.
We wish our runners and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.
