Well January is finally over, and we welcome our first racing festival of the new year! It’s time for the Dublin racing Festival. For day 1 we have 8 horses going to post.

Our first runner is FURY ROAD in the Grade 1 Nathaniel Lacy Solicitors Novice Hurdle. This horse managed to survive a very bad mistake at the last on his most recent appearance. This will be the toughest competition he will have faced to date but we think he should be up to it. Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

We don’t have anything for the next two Grade 1s, but we have 3 for the Grade B Matheson Handicap Chase. It’s a big pot with a big field. DUCA DE THAIX heads the weights and will be partnered by Keith Donoghue. AVENIR D’UNE VIE is our second runner who is a dream horse for their connections having won and placed in big races since being bought for small money. He will have Jack Kennedy on his back. Finally we have Éclair De Beaufeu who we will claim from with 5lbs claimer Sean O’Keeffe. We hope this trio give us a good chance in the race.

We don’t have anything for the Champion Hurdle but move to another big pot in the Ladbrokes Grade B Hurdle. SIRE DU BERLAIS again tops the weights here and will be ridden by Davy Russell. Secondly we have THATSY who is in the middle of the handicap. He’ll need to put up a very good performance to feature here but he has the man for the job; Jack Kennedy in the saddle.

Finally we have the Grade 2 Goffs Future Stars Colts and Geldings Bumper. FANTASIO D’ALENE was 2nd in a Listed bumper last time out and that will serve him well here. Lisa O’Neill is back on board him here. Jamie Codd will ride WIDE RECIEVER who was 2nd behind Eric Bloodaxe at the same venue last time.

We wish all our horses the very best of luck and for a safe return.
