What a week!! Now that many are on the come down from Cheltenham we’re still racing albeit it behind closed doors. We have 9 runners for Navan and 2 over in Newcastle.
We double up in the first with ENNEMI PUBLIC and TULLYBEG. Ennemi Public has started to hit better form recently and finishing close or in the frame and will be partnered by 7lbs claimer Gavin Brouder. Tullybeg is a new recruit to the yard having run in a few point to points. We’ve decided to go straight over hurdles and he will partnered by Davy Russell.
ARDAMIR was a brilliant 2nd on his first start for the yard and we’ve stuck him in here where Kevin Brogan can claim 4lbs in the Opportunity hurdle. He’ll be at the top end of the weights for this and it should be a competitive affair.
WE have another two runners for the novice hurdle. PENCILFULLOFLEAD showed his true colours last time winning well and will be ridden by Robbie Power. FESTIVAL D’EX didn’t have his ideal conditions last time and the ground looks like it should be a bit softer here and Davy Russell will ride.
MENGLI KHAN is running to form at the minute we have found a very small field for the Grade 2 chase. His now regular partner in crime Luke Dempsey will be on board and hopefully they can take home some of the spoils.
Our next horse MINELLA TILL DAWN can be a bit hit and miss and was pulled up last time in a big handicap, there’s another big race in him somewhere along the line and Mark Walsh has been booked to ride.
The final race of the day is the bumper where we have two runners, JIMMY JIMMY’s form improved greatly last time to finish 2nd and will be partnered by Paddy Vaughan. Also in this race is TORYGRAPH who got caught behind of proceedings last time to finish 4th, he will be partnered by Lisa O’Neill.
We also have two runners over in Newcastle today, ROBIN DEUZ POIS will be having her first run over fences for us and this looks like it could be a soft event. Jamie Codd will be making the journey up from Cheltenham.
GETABAY will be going for the bumper and also partnered by Jamie, he has hit the crossbar on his last two starts and we will have everything crossed that today will be the day to get over it.
Best of luck to all our runners and riders and fingers crossed for a safe return.
