It’s a busy day as we have runners across both cards and codes today. We send 15 horses to Kilbeggan for their Midlands National card and 2 to the Curragh.

We avoid the first race at Kilbeggan and our first runner is FULL OF ZANDRE in the Follow Kilbeggan Instagram maiden hurdle Division 1 over 2m3f. This is a very well related horse having his first run on the track. It will be interesting to see how he goes on this track and will be guided by Davy Russell to give him a good introduction.

In the Division 2 of the same race we have SANTANA PLESSIS, who is far more well acquainted to the race track then our first runner. He has good form at Kilbeggan having won his bumper here, this will be another ride for Davy Russell.

We have MENGLI KHAN for the fourth event, the Hurdle over 2m3f. Supasundae will be the obvious danger here with both horses looking to kick off their season. Luke Dempsey has a good relationship with this horse and hopefully the pair can pick up where they left off.

Hopefully for the fifth race we have two runners, where AERO MAJESTIC is first reserve. GOLDEN NOMAD takes his place and we have decided to step him up in trip. He is a point winner over 3m so this shouldn’t be an issue for him based on distance. He doesn’t have too much to carry and will be aided by Puppy Power.

Moving on to the chases we have AFOREMENTIONED who will be debuting for the yard. He showed some potential for his previous yard and has since had a long lay off. He comes here fresh and will hopefully show an improvement in his jumping, Davy Russell rides.

The penultimate race is the feature which we came very close to winning last year when Barra fell at the last leading by 5L. We send another strong team this year with 5 runners and 2 reserves for all for different owners. THREE MUSKETEERS leads the way in the betting as Davy Russell’s pick, he is one that can perform on the big days and is coming off a long break. THE BIG LENSE scooped a few big prizes last year with today’s rider Luke Dempsey in the saddle. He isn’t a straightforward riding having unseated on his last two runs. WOODS WELL looks to improve his form with a step back up in trip, Gavin Brouder who claims 7lbs will ride. Next up is CREADAN GRAE who pulled up last time at Perth amidst a deluge of rain which made the going unsuitable. He’s had a good holiday and Denis O’Regan rides for his come back. SWINGBRIDGE may still be too high in the weights here but he wears his heart on his sleeve and will be ridden by Kevin Sexton. We move onto our reserves, From Eden is a winner over fences but hasn’t quite fired yet this year and Get Out The Gate came 6th on his first start for us and will come on for that effort.

Finally at Kilbeggan we have the bumper where we have GERALDO who won his sole run in a point to point and looks to be a nice prospect for connections, Jamie Codd rides. Another new comer in the race is TALK OF THE TOWN who is related to a few winners on the flat. He will be ridden by Hugh McOwan who claims 7lbs.

Running at the Curragh we have SISTER ELIZA who was very pleasing on her debut here the other week. This is a very hot contest and hopefully she will run well, Leigh Roche will ride.

Finally we have the second reserve, THE ABBEY in the Sky Bet Handicap over 1m4f. We’ll be waiting by the phone for our call up as this horse makes its handicapping debut.
