It was great to get a winner at either end of the card yesterday with two improving horses, the plate didn’t go our way but they’ be back to fight another day.

Today is Galway Hurdle Day but with the rain continuing to fall like it has, there may be a few drop outs along the way.

SAINT D’OROUX looks to put his bad run the last day behind him and follow up his Cheltenham run with something better. On ratings he is the horse to beat and hopefully he runs like that. Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

BRAID BLUE is one that could potentially fall victim to the change in going as the dryer the better for him. He was a smart hurdler and this will be his premier over fences. Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

Next is the Grade 3 Rockshore Novice Chase over 2m2f. AFOREMENTIONED made a great debut for the yard by coming 2nd last time out and rightfully takes a step up in class here, Davy Russell rides. Unfortunately Galvin was a non-runner yesterday due to a sore foot before the race which rules him out of this.

FIGHT FOR LOVE goes for the Arthur Guinness Handicap Hurdle and is still available for lease, he has a low mark and weight for this which should help him sneak into contention. It’s a big field but the continuing rainfall will be in his favour.

The big race of the day for which we have two very nice horses. FELIX DESJY destroyed his opposition when he was an 8L winner spreading the field 185Ls first to last at Navan the last day. He is a Grade 1 winner but lacks handicap experience, Davy Russell has been booked to ride. ARAMAX was a wonderful Cheltenham winner when we last saw him and aims to be the first 4yo winner of this race since the year 2000, Mark Walsh has been booked to ride.

THE VERY MAN is a horse that just keeps improving having won the Listed race yesterday. He looks to follow up his easy win in that by staying further for this Novice event. He could fall foul of the going however as he appreciates the better ground, Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

CHERIF DE L’ISLE got a step rise of 7lbs for his victory before lock down and this looks to be a deep race where that penalty could be an issue. He goes into this fresh and we hope he continues his consistent streak with Davy in the saddle.

Finally for the bumper we have just the one runner, SMOKEY THE BANDIT who has a few more exposed horses to contend with. He is very good looking and had a price tag to go with it. Regardless of his lack of racecourse experience the maestro Jamie Codd will be riding having won last night on Weseekhimhere for us.
