It’s a new month and we managed to kick it off pretty quickly with a winner in the shape of Geraldo in the bumper yesterday in Cork. It’s another busy bank holiday Monday however, as the team shape up to head to Roscommon with 8 runners for their 7 race card.
Starting us off is LONGCLAW in the Railway Bar 3YO Maiden Hurdle over 1m7f. He hasn’t quite set the track alive on the flat this year as we had hoped so he takes the switch to hurdling. It’ll be very much an unknown for the horse but he schools well and looks like this might be more up his street, Keith Donoghue takes the ride.
Our next runner, Wings Of Destiny is currently sitting as first reserve in the Dysart Maiden Hurdle over 2m 3f. This looks like quite an open race with many coming into it with some improving form and a bit of extra experience. It would be a nice one to get into and hopefully wouldn’t be too far away.
The Class Grass Handicap Hurdle is the first of the afternoon where we have two runners. TIGER TWENTY TWO has provided his owners huge enjoyment since joining the team having won twice and placed multiple times. This looks like it could be another race right up his street with a strong staying test on the cards, Keith Donoghue has been booked . NOBEL JOSHUA has yet to win for us but will be on a feather weight with the addition of Sean O’Keeffe claiming 5lbs of his back.
We don’t have any runners for the mares race and move swiftly onto the Beginners Chase where I’M A GAME CHANGER continues on his pursuit to break his maiden over fences. On form he looks like the one to beat in this with Keith Donoghue in the saddle.
GIVE HIM TIME is another horse who has blossomed since coming to the yard and he looks to follow up his chase win in Downpatrick with the Castlerea Handicap Chase over 3m. He flew home to win his last chase by 7L and we hope we’ve found another open event to back it up, Sean O’Keeffe rides and claims 5lbs.
Finally for the bumper we have two runners. PAPAL LODGE ran a very nice race to pick up 3rd on his only start to date and was beaten by one of ours who has since won again, Jamie Codd has been booked to ride. THE GREEK is another who had a please first run and hasn’t been too far away at home either, Lisa O’Neill takes the ride. It looks like the Willie Mullins runner is our biggest danger.
