It’s another busy day as we have runners across the country in Sligo and Wexford as today’s Irish meetings are devoted totally to the jumps.

Firstly we will review Wexford where we have two runners both of which will go for the same race, the Slaney Beginners Chase. BRAID BLUE has had a number of entries recently but the ground has gone on him on those occasions. Today’s going reads as good and thus means he gets a run. He has very good form over hurdles and makes his chasing debut with Keith Donoghue in the saddle. The very good looking MONKSHOOD also goes for this. He had a good go at winter chasing last season and summer jumps might be up his street, Sean O’Keeffe rides and claims 5lbs.

Our next runner after this is BALLY DUN LISS in the O’Heirs Bakery Mares Maiden Hurdle at Sligo. She’s a new comer in a field that looks an open sort. She’s been doing well at home and goes straight over hurdles, Luke Dempsey has been booked to ride.

BRAWNY is our next runner, in the Madden’s Bar & Restaurant Handicap Hurdle over 2m1f. This horse has found some improvement this season finding some consistency in his runs. He’ll be fitted with a hood for the first time since joining us to help him in his run, Denis O’Regan will ride.

Another moving to hurdles for the first time is COEUR AIMANT who was 4th on his only appearance in a bumper. This looks like a competitive race where he will have to put his best foot forward, Luke Dempsey has been booked to ride.

Fitted with first time cheek pieces, GUN MERCHANT goes for the Kilcawley Construction Maiden Hurdle stepping back in trip for this. This could be a wide open event if this horse can show up to his best, Luke Dempsey has been booked to ride.

The upwardly mobile INSANE BOLT has been given a 2lb rise for his efforts at Tramore and that may just get the better of him here. He is the youngest horse in the field and will have cheek pieces fitted again and Bryan Cooper in the saddle.

Finally we are double fisted in the Pro-Am bumper with THE SLIDING ROCK and WESTCOAST TIGER. The Sliding Rock came close the last day when running a good second and improvement would be hoped from that. Jamie Codd is booked again for the ride. Westcoast Tiger ran on in that same bumper to nab 5th, the slight step up in distance should be to her benefit and Lisa O’Neill has been booked to ride.
