It was great to bring back the Munster National to Cullentra House stables last night after Aforementioned won the feature race of the day with Gavin Brouder in the saddle. We’d like to wish Rachael, Davy and Jack a speedy recovery after their respective falls yesterday and hopefully they’ll be back soon.
SANTANA PLESSIS has hit the crossbar more times than most of recent, 4 in the last 6 runs over hurdles. We will have to switch jockeys due to Davy being out of action today.
Daphne Moon is second reserve for the second race but is a doubtful contender but will hopefully been seen on the track soon.
Our next runner is in the 4th Bellamianta Luxury Tanning Handicap Hurdle over 3m1f. Handicaps should suit this horse and he fits in the middle of the pack on weights, we’ll have a change of jockey at the scales for this one too.
We’ve two runners for the next, the Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey Beginners Case over 2m3f. Consistent as ever last time out CHERIF DE L’ISLE makes the switch to chasing and takes a drop back in trip, a small field should be a help. SOLDIER AT WAR has a similar profile except with the advantage of already having a nice run over fences.
Unfortunately due to Covid 19 OUT SAM didn’t make it across for the Pardubice and instead goes for the Mullingar Veterans Handicap Chase as top weight, he should be in fine for it, another Jockey change will be on the cards.
In the beginners chase we have BRAESIDE who only faces 5 runners now in this race. He got plenty of experience on the point to point field before coming to us and the switch to the bigger obstacles should suit and he looks a stout stayer.
Finally in the bumper we have DARK SPARK who probably won’t have it all his own way as this son of the mighty Voler La Vedette faces the more experienced Dads Lad in this small field over 2m. Jamie Codd has been booked to ride.
