It’s a very busy day for us today as we send our first runner out over in the UK since the festival and fittingly it’s at Cheltenham. We also have 6 runners in Sligo along with one flat runner in Dundalk.
First we will look at the race in Cheltenham where we have GALVIN, 3 from 3 so far this season and in good form he makes the trip over to Cheltenham for this small runner field. Robbie Power has been booked to ride and it looks a competitive race where we can find out plenty about this horse for his season ahead.
Back home we start racing in Sligo with GLORIOUS ZOFF in the Juvenile hurdle over 2m1f. This horse will be having his first start in the the national hunt sphere. He’ll be coming up against a few who already have experience over hurdles which can be hard to come up against first time out. Keith Donoghue does so well with these horses has been booked to ride.
We come double handed for the Cleveragh Hurdle over 2m1f with ONE DOWN and CALL ME LYREEN. One Down got his season off to a winning one last time out in Gowran and that should place him well for this, Mark Walsh has been booked to ride. Call Me Lyreen was another who won last time out but in his only bumper start to date and takes his step forward to hurdling, Keith Donoghue has been booked to ride.
Our next runner is BETH HORAN, she goes for the Irish Stallion Farms Mares Maiden but might find the ground a bit on the good side today. Mark Walsh has been booked to ride.
DESIRE DE JOIE goes for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Hurdle over 3m. This looks a nice point to start him off for the season as he is ready to go. He’ll come on a lot for this and Mark Walsh has been booked to ride.
Finally in the bumper we have newcomer TOP BANDIT who will face a few who are already familiar to the track. We seem to be going well with our bumper houses and this one fits in well with the rest of them. Jamie Codd has been booked to ride.
Over in dundalk we currently have 2nd reserve in the 4th race, CAPTAIN MIDDLETON. Nothing has come out of the race yet for us so we will wait and see.
