We head to our local track, Navan, today with 12 runners.

We kick off the day with BRAESIDE in the NavanRacecourse.ie Rated Novice Chase. He was just denied first place in a lady riders handicap at Fairyhouse last time out and we’re hoping for another good run from him today under Jack Kennedy.

ROBIN DEUZ POIS has come on plenty since her last run in Fairyhouse and could go close in the Happy Christmas And New Year To All Our Members Handicap Steeplechase.

We run two in the Irish Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle. FOXHOLE will need to improve plenty from what he has shown so far if he is to be in with a chance today. PERCY WARNER makes his debut over hurdles today. He was a nice point to point winner back in October and hopefully this can be a successful start for new connections.

Bob Olinger certainly looks the one to beat in the Mervyn Gray Construction Maiden Hurdle. We run DIRECT FIRE and DUNBOYNE who both hold good each way chances.

In the Grade 2 BetVictor Make Your Best Bet Novice Hurdle we have a strong hand with Eskylane and Fakiera. ESKYLANE didnt run to his full potential last time out and we’re hoping that the addition of a tongue tie today will help him out, Keith Donoghue takes the ride. FAKIERA (pictured) stayed on strongly last time out to win a Grade 3 contest and should go close here today under Jack Kennedy.

We also send out two runners in the Grade B BetVictor Gamble Responsibly Tara Handicap Hurdle. We have switched TINTANGLE back to hurdles to try and get a bit more enthusiasm out of her and she also wears visors for the first time today. ELITE TROOPER GREY should appreciate the step up in trip. He was victorious over 2m3f at Cork back in October but his jumping can let him down, Jack Kennedy rides.

DESSIE DESCHAMPS ran well to finish 3rd last time out and we’re hoping for another good performance from him today in the Simonstown Handicap Hurdle.

Our last runner of the day is SIR GERHARD in the BetVictor Flash Cashback ‘Future Champions’ Flat Race. He’s a smart horse who was very impressive on his debut in Down Royal when beating rivals by 14lengths and he certainly looks the one to beat today. Jamie Codd takes the ride.
