It is truly the hangover of Christmas, there is still probably a worrying amount of turkey left in the fridge and you just can’t handle another sandwich. One thing is for sure however, there is another day of super racing ahead as we again head to Leopardstown and Limerick.

Just like yesterday our first runner will be in Leopardstown but this time in the second race, where DEFI BLEU runs in the Paddy Power Games Beginners Chase. He faces a nice small field here which looks very classy. This horse ran a great race last time out after a very long absence from the track, Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

Moving on to the Grade 1 Future Champions Novice Hurdle we have two very smart contenders. BALLYADAM has already managed to secure Grade 1 glory for himself and looks again to add more here. This looks another step forward as the competition heats up, Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride. CALL ME LYREEN put his unbeaten record on the line here along with a few others. Already a Grade 2 winner we have a very strong pair in the race with Denis O’Regan in the saddle.

A big field Handicap Hurdle is next where we have three runners for the 2m trip. ECLAIR DE BEAUFEU sits as top weight but has done plenty of schooling following his recent runs, Jack Kennedy has been booked. Much further down the handicap is RECENT REVELATIONS who will get a weight for age allowance due to him being 4 and will have the help of Denis O’Regan in the saddle. Finally we have GOLD DES BOIS who has been running well for us and will hopefully improve from his last run, Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

A great power couple have been reunited in the Grade B Paddy Power Chase as Rob James will once again partner MILAN NATIVE and take 7lbs. This pairing were successful in Cheltenham and can hopefully make another big splash. FARCLAS has made a wonderful return to racing having finished a close 5th on his last start and says on the same mark, Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride. ROARING BULL ran another cracker behind the Jam Man in the Troytown to then not feature in the Porterstown. Another claimer has been booked to ride in the shape of Gavin Brouder. MONBEG NOTORIOUS is very familiar with these sort of affairs and will be ridden by Eoin O’Connell who claims 5lbs. RUN WILD FRED will be fitted with first time cheekpieces for today’s event and will be ridden by Sean O’Keeffe. Aforementioned and Elwood sit as first and third reserve respectfully.

Finally in the bumper we have BALLYCAIRN who will be ridden by Jamie Codd. He ran well on racecourse debut to come 3rd and he will improve from that run.

Over to Limerick we start in the second race with GENERAL PRINCIPLE in the Veterans Handicap chase over 2m6f. This should be right up his street as he is against his own age group, Paul Cawley has been booked to ride and will claim 7lbs.

We skip a race before going onto the Grade 2 Novice Hurdle over 2m7f. FAROUK D’ALENE didn’t jump well the last day and has done plenty at home since then and will be partnered by Keith Donoghue. RAGNAR LODBROK deserves to take a step forward having performed well in both Listed and Graded company to date, Conor Orr has been booked to ride.

Finally in the bumper we have FORNEUX D’ISANKA who’s experience should play to the fore here as he is partnered by 7lbs claimer, Hugh McOwan.
