Saturday 26th of September

We’ll be plenty busy today as we have the same number of runners on the flat as we do over jumps across the Curragh and Listowel.

Firstly we head to the Curragh for the flat where we will hopefully have 5 runners. COLIGINI looks made for this type of race, being a son of the Irish 2000 Guineas winner Awtaad. This horse has already had the benefit of running in a barrier trial and should be ready for this run. CAPTAIN MIDDLETON currently sits as first reserve in the Irish EBF Median sires series over 8f. This colt has been stepped up in trip from 6f as he looked to be staying on in heavy going at Cork on the last day.

CATHERINE CHROI improved a huge amount between runs and showed us a bit more of what we were hoping from her. She goes in the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Race over 6f. It could cut up into an open contest with many smaller trainers represented. Wayne Lordan has been booked to ride.

Finally for the Curragh we have a pair more used to jumping in the Tipperary Crystal Ladies Trophy Handicap over 1m4f. RECENT REVELATIONS makes the switch back to the flat having had good juvenile form over the level. Eliece Elliott will be having her first start on the track and we wish her the very best of luck. Our second runner in this is also first reserve, COMMENTARIOLUS who is very lightly raced was bred for the flat being a son of Frankel. However he found his first victory over hurdles and shouldn’t have any issue with today’s task.

Moving back to the jumps we have GEVREY in the opener at Listowel, the John Lynch Memorial Maiden Hurdle over 2m. This will be Gevrey’s first run over jumps having run twice in bumpers. We will be hoping to see a bit of improvement for the switch and Keith Donoghue has been booked to ride.

SAINT D’OROUX goes forward for the Allman Contracts Novice Hurdle over 2m4f. This has cut up into only a 7 runner race with plenty of inform horses turning out. We think he can improve on his Galway form and could be quite competitive here. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

Finally we have a long wait of 5 races before the bumper where our final two runners do battle. MARS HARPER was a very impressive winner on his only race course appearance and his partnership with 7lbs claimer Hugh McOwan has been renewed. WESEEKHIMHERE was also last seen winning impressively by 11 lengths having not had a clear run first time out, Jamie Codd has been booked to ride. It will be exciting to see these two horses go up against each other.

Friday 25th of September

Today we head down to Listowel for the penultimate day of their racing festival, we will have four runners for a total of two races.

We kick off the day with the John J Galvin Maiden Hurdle over 2m4f. ARDHILL will be having his second start under rules in what could be an open race, Jack Kennedy will ride. Our other runner in this event is ENVIOUS EDITOR who will be making his stable debut. This horse is a winning pointer and has come close to winning having been twice the runner up. He will be ridden by Robbie Power.

Our second lot of runners will be in the feature race of the day, the Ladbrokes Nation Plays Handicap Hurdle over 2m. STAR MAKER valuable Killarney handicap win last year came at the expense of Tudor City but prefers better ground as the going is declared as soft on the national hunt course and heavy on the flat, Jack Kennedy will ride. ARDAMIR has been good form this summer, winning under today’s rider at Bellewstown and last month at Ballinrobe; This doesn’t look like his ideal ground however and might be best watched today.

Sunday 6th of September

It’s another day of racing down in Ballinrobe as we have a mix of runners and reserves for the national hunt card.

Our first runner of the afternoon is WESTCOAST TIGER in the McHale Fusion 3 Range Mares Maiden Hurdle. This filly was just touched off my the smallest margin the last day. Hurdles seem to have brought about a nice bit of improvement so hopefully she’ll be more the wiser today with Keith in the saddle again.

Jaunty Warrior doesn’t look like he’ll be getting in to the second race as nothing has come out as he sits as third reserve.

MAKE MY HEART FLY couldn’t get around a tough class of horses the last day in what looked a much tougher assignment then this. This is also a step up in trip from that but she should be well able to run her race as she gives plenty of weight away to a few of them here. Her regular companion of Keith Donoghue will ride.

Our next runner is MENGLI KHAN in the McHale C4 Straw Blower & Silage Feeder Chase. This looks a hot race where we can hopefully be competitive where Mengli will be partnered by Rachael Blackmore.

For the Grade B McHale Mayo National Handicap Chase over 2m7f we have YOUNG TURK who was a great winner last time out and will be partnered again by Sean O’Keeffe claiming 3lbs off 10st 8lbs. Our other two hopefuls Cecil Corbett and Timiyan won’t be getting in as second and third reserves as no one has come out.

Finally a race named after our stable star the McHale Tiger Roll Beginners Chase we have AFOREMENTIONED who has been knocking on the door of late will have first time cheek pieces to eek out a bit more from him, Keith Donoghue will ride.

Friday the 4th September

It was great to get another winner last night in Clonmel with Nobel Joshua. Today we head over to Kilbeggan with 4 runners.

Our first runner of the afternoon is SILVER STAR in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle over 2m. He was second the last day to Goodbye Someday the last day when he was 8lbs better off, he will be 10lbs better off today and will have Sean O’Keeffe in the saddle.

Next up is our first reserve Fakir D’alene who makes the switch to hurdling after not quite taking to bumpers. He was a very impressive point to point winner before coming to the yard so jumping shouldn’t be an issue. He is currently sat as first reserve so we will be hoping someone comes out.

MRS DAVIES goes for the Coola Handicap Hurdle over 3m where she will be ridden by Jordan Williams who claims 7lbs. We’ll be looking to improve on her last runs as her owners look to have a bit of fun with her.

Finally in the bumper we have MASON CITY who was just pipped last time out on debut in very wet conditions. That race looks like it is turning up to be a nice one as the third placed horse is now a winner. Jamie Codd has been booked to ride.

Friday 21st of August

We’ve rolled around back to Friday and we’re set to go to Kilbeggan for an evening of jumps. The ground currently reads as yielding to soft and we hope it doesn’t change.

Our first runner of the afternoon is CURLEW in a Div I Maiden Hurdle over 2m. The form of this horse has worked out quite well with  Ruaille Buaille having scored by 13Ls on it’s last appearance. Curlew will be giving weight to the rest of the pack for his bumper success but we hope he is a class above them, we have booked Luke Dempsey to ride.

It’s all about MALONE ROAD in the second Div of the maiden hurdle, a hugely talented horse coming back from a lay off. If he is anywhere close to his old form this should be a nice assignment for him. The run will do him the world of good and it is good to have this horse back on the track, Keith Donoghue rides him for his debut over hurdles.

UNCLE HENRY sprung a nice surprise the last day to win on debut for us, he has come out of that event well. The Mullins horse looks very classy coming into this and is the one to beat, especially as we have some ground concerns with this horse but Keith Donoghue has been booked to ride.

We skip a race before COEUR AIMANT goes for the 3m1f maiden hurdle. This horse looks like he enjoys a stamina test and has some nice form with one or two of the horses in this race. Luke Dempsey has been booked to ride.

GUTTURAL hasn’t done a whole lot wrong since joining the yard and looks to take another step forward here. He has a similar profile to a few of these and looks up to featuring at this level on his day. Sean O’Keeffe has been booked to take off the extra 5lbs.

We have two runners for the racingtv.com Handicap Chase over 3m1f. TIMIYAN likes it around here and shaped nicely on his return to the track when 2nd last time out. This is a step up in trip from that run and he will be partnered by Mark Walsh. FINAL LIST didn’t have the greatest time of it before lockdown but has freshened up nicely for his return to the track here, Sean O’Keeffe has been booked to ride and takes off 5lbs.

Finally we have GLAN in the Follow Kilbeggan Racecourse On Instagram INH Flat Race. We were hoping the ground would dry up a bit more but this looks like it could be a weak contest and hopefully ripe for the picking. Jamie Codd has been booked to ride.

Monday 17th of August

It was great to get through the 1700 winner mark yesterday with Young Turk at Tramore. Hopefully we can add to that tally with our runners in Tipperary.

Our first runner of the afternoon is FIGHT FOR LOVE in the Junction Handicap hurdle over 2m. There are some last time out winners in this and others which bring some decent flat form to the table. Fight For Love might find this a little hard but we’ve had a few big priced winners of late and we will be looking forward to a good run. Denis O’Regan has been booked to ride.

For the Maiden Hurdle we have two horses with very contrasting profiles. PAPAL LODGE is climbing the grades having earned his stripes in a bumper the last day and is learning his trade well. The Mullins horse is the obvious danger to ours, Keith Donoghue will ride on this horse’s maiden voyage over hurdles. Much more racecourse experienced in a different sphere is CRACKAWAY has been pleasing on his first two starts for us. This was his intended path and he looks to get a valuable education over hurdles with Jordan Williams onboard claiming 7lbs.

METAL MAN seems to like the going a little tough but 3m was too far for him the last day. A winner over 2m on heavy he should be able to contend in today’s conditions over 2m4f. Luke Dempsey has been booked to ride.

Our final runner of the afternoon is MASON CITY in the bumper. This horse will be one of the older members in this as a 7yo. He has run once two years ago and fell when 4th, he’s come here in good sorts and we have booked Jamie Codd to ride. Longacre Square currently sits as second reserve and we await a call for his debut.

Thursday 13th of August

We’ve plenty of runners for you today as we head to Tramore with 11 runners.

CATS FOR CASH and GUN MERCHANT both go for the Three Ireland Rated Novice Chase over 2m. Cats For Cash makes his return to the track after almost a year and we’ve started him back off over fences, it’s a small field and he might find that he needs a bit to do, we’ve booked Keith Donoghue to guide him around. Gun Merchant has been a little bit disappointing having not followed on from his bumper win, Denis O’Regan has been booked to ride.

We have just the one runner in the Pat Woodbyrne Memorial Beginners Chase over 2m5f; GUTTURAL. This horse will be having his first start for us and has already had a run over fences for his previous yard. There are a few horses in the race that have bits and pieces of form so it looks like it has the potential to be quite open, Keith Donoghue has been booked to ride.

Another pair will make their way down to the start for us for the Support Tramore Business Maiden Hurdle over 2m. ELITE TROOPER GREY makes his debut under national hunt rules in this and will be partnered by Luke Dempsey, he has a lovely pedigree and good flat form so hopefully he can bring a bit of class to this. GERRY’S WAY is getting ever closer to getting his head across the finish line first as he improved to 4th last time, he will be ridden by Keith Donoghue.

The feature race of the evening is the Flynn Hotels Handicap Hurdle over 2m, we send forward 3 runners for the 12 runner field. ARDAMIR already has a big handicap hurdle under his belt this season and thus starts top weight. We’ve decided to claim off him and Sean O’Keeffe has been booked to ride taking off 5lbs. Another at the top end of the weights is SILVER STAR who unfortunately unseated the last day but will have Bryan Cooper on board today. Finally for our stable staff syndicate we have ENZANI who had a great run last month to finish 3rd under Davy Russell at Kilbeggan, today it will be Keith in the driving seat.

The very consistent INSANE BOLT goes for the O’Neill Bar Rated Novice Hurdle over 2m4f. He is entitled to run another good race here with 5lbs taken off by Sean O’Keeffe. It’s a small race and this horse seems to be on the right path.

Finally we have two runners in the Dunmore East Ladies Maiden over 2m. HAMMERSTEIN likes it around here with his form figures reading 1-2 over two starts. A few nice ones have seen the opportunity here and it won’t be all our way, Lisa O’Neill has been booked to ride. The frustrating I’M A GAME CHANGER also looks to break his duck. A very classy horse over fences without having won, Alice Stevens has been booked and claims 7lbs.

Sunday 9th of August

Seven runners will head to Downpatrick today. This course seems to be a lucky one for us so hopefully we can come back with a few winners.

ESCORT’NAMIX aims to get us off on the right note having been placed on her last three starts. It’s a nice small field and we have booked Sean O’Keeffe to ride taking off a further 5lbs. Hopefully this is the one and we’re hoping for a good run.

SOLDIERS HILL goes for the rated hurdle having won last time out. He’ll be joint bottom weight with the addition of Sean O’Keeffe taking off 5lbs. This should be a slightly tougher event but hopefully we’ve done everything in our power to place him right.

Frustratingly DESSIE DESCHAMPS currently sits as second reserve for the Randox Health Handicap Hurdle over 2m2f. We will be waiting by the phone in the hope he gets a run.

Another new member to the team is MRS DAVIES who joins the yard from the UK. She has a nice pedigree and should relish the trip. As with a few others this weekend we’ve booked Sean O’Keeffe to ride as he claims 5lbs.

Still a maiden for us GOLDEN NOMAD goes in the Homecare Maiden Hurdle. There are plenty of exposed types in this race so hopefully we have the measure of the field. It looks a soft race and we have booked Robbie Power.

Finally we come to the Randox Health Beginners Chase over 2m3f for which we have 2 runners. MIRACLE IN MEDINAH finished in the mid-field on his first attempt over fences and will be looking to build on that with Jody McGarvey in the plates. THE ABBEY switches back to the jumps having been campaigned on the flat. This will be his first start over fences and we have put Keith on to help him.
