Friday 16th August

It’s a wet and windy start to the weekend and we send 4 runners down to Tramore.

In the first race, the EY Steeple Chase, we have 2 runners. The first of which is last time out winner WESTLAND ROW. He is enjoying a purple patch as he could potentially get a 3 timer here. However, it could turn out to be a very hot race indeed. Denis O’Regan will ride. Leading the betting is BARRA, who was home and hosed before falling in the Midlands National two starts ago. She didn’t turn up at Galway last time out but we hope she can show something like her Kilbeggan form. Jack Kennedy is in the saddle.

It’s a break of two races to the 4th, the Assembly Techniques Handicap Hurdle where we have one runner: MONITION. He is still a maiden over hurdles after 15 starts but he has showed sparks of ability. Hopefully, today is one of those days that he decides to shine. Jack Kennedy is booked to ride.

Our final runner of the evening is BOLD GESTURE in the Definite Ruby Maiden Hurdle. He probably needed the run last time, so fitness shouldn’t be an issue here. we’re hoping he can run a good race and get his head into the frame. Jack Kennedy is booked to ride.

We wish all our horses and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Tuesday 6th August

There is only one meeting today in Ireland, and that is in Roscommon. We will be sending 5 horses.

Our first runner is a new one for the yard, GLOBAL FREEDOM who is making the change from the flat to jumps. He runs in the Railway Bar 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle over 1m7f. Denis O’regan will be riding and can hopefully teach this gelding a few things on his national hunt debut.

In the next race we have MONITION who will be ridden by Keith Donoghue. Monition makes the switch back to Hurdles having disappointed on his Chase debut last time. The Paul Byron Shoes Maiden Hurdle over 2m3f will hopefully be the ticket to better form.

For the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginner Steeple Chase we have two runners. The first is the hattrick scorer DARLING MISS. She has been in flying form this year and made a pleasing start to Chasing when second on her debut. Denis O’Regan will be riding. Our second runner in this race is ISLE OF DESTINY, who has a similar profile to Darling Miss having been placed over fences. Keith Donoghue will ride.

The last runner of the day is GLOBAL JACKPOT in the J.F Hanley Beginners Steeple Chase over 2m. He’s not the most straightforward as he has been a little disappointing of recent. Hopefully the tide ahs changed and Keith Donoghue can get a different tune out of him today.

We wish all our horses and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Monday 5th August

Today we have 6 runners under both codes and across two courses.

We head down to Cork for the Children Under 14 Race Free Handicap Hurdle for CATS FOR CASH. He found himself at the front half of the pack at Galway but was no threat to the leading trio.
He seems to be in a positive vein of format the moment and Davy Russell will take the ride.

We have two runners in the next race, the Joe Walsh Memorial Hurdle. Top weight goes to COUNT SIMON who was unable to continue the winning streak last time when he was 3rd at Bellewstown. Hopefully he should be in the mix as he is a consistent type that will give it a good go. Davy Russell rides. EVERYBREATHYOUTAKE is our second runner and he found one too good for him last time out. He has another crack at 3 miles and Keith Donoghue rides.

Our final runner at Cork is RIAN THOMAS in the Enjoy Afternoon Tea At Cork INH Flat Race. Things didn’t go his way in Kilbeggan and it was good to see him return to form last time out. He is yet to win, so Jamie Codd has been booked to help to try and change this.

Over to Naas for a couple of flat runners. CAPTAIN POWER runs in the Naas Racecourse Handicap over 6f. He still hasn’t quite found his mark and the stalls still present a risk factor to his race. Hopefully he can overcome the later and see how he fairs at the weights. Gary Halpin rides.

The final runner in Naas is RYTHMIC MELODY in the ISF EBF Fillies Median Auction Maiden over 7f. She was able to build on her debut last time out as she finished just outside the placings in 4th. The 7f looks to be her trip and hopefully further improvement can come with experience. Chris Hayes will take the ride.

We wish all our horses and riders the best of luck and for a safe return.

Tuesday 23rd July

Today we have 8 runners spread across two racecourses.

Firstly to our Irish engagements, CATS FOR CASH runs in the opener at Ballinrobe; the Michael Cawe Suspended Cellings Maiden Hurdle. He drops back to 2m1f which can hopefully revive his form. The masterful hands of Davy Russell are on board to help achieve this.

Next up at the evening meeting is THE ABBEY in the 2m1f Mayo News Maiden Hurdle. He wasn’t too far behind proceedings last time out when 4th and was only 2nd the time before that. He carries a nice weight here along with Davy Russell. We’re hoping the pair can continue on an upward trajectory.

We skip a race before moving on to our next runner, SOLDIER AT WAR. This looks like a horse going places as he’s been in the money in all but 1 of his starts. It’s a small field, so there will be no hiding. Davy Russell gets the ride on this one too.

In the next event we have two runners. GRAINEYHILL is our first runner in the John Mulhern Handicap Hurdle. This will be his first run back after a holiday, so he’ll be fresh but may need the run especially since he will be carrying top weight. This will be another rider for Davy Russell. DONA KATHARINA has partnered up with regular dance partner Denis O’Regan for this number. She takes a drop in trip back to a distance she’s more comfortable with.

Finally RIAN THOMAS rounds up our runners at Ballinrobe in the On-Course Vets INH Flat Race.  We’ve still a lot to learn about this horse as he’s relatively unexposed. Jamie Codd has been given the ride in order to give the horse every chance possible.

SKEAPING breaks the trend by being one of two runners heading overseas to Southwell. He takes a drop in trip to 1m7f and aims to make the trip a profitable one. Richard Johnson is on board and fingers crossed they can get around safely.

Lastly, CARRIE DES CHAMPS runs in the Sky Sports Racing Virgin 535 Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle over 2m41/2f. She was 2nd by half a length last time out and is a model of consistency. Richard Johnson will be on hand again to help her put in a clear round of jumping.

We wish all our horses, riders and stable staff the best of luck and all a safe return.

Friday 19th July

It’s a very busy start to the weekend as we send 14 horses to Kilbeggan.

Our first runner in Kilbeggan is MONKEYLOU, in the Coola Maiden Hurdle over 2m. He was 4th in a maiden hurdle last time out over the same trip and has had a flat run inbetween. Davy Russell takes the ride.

Next up is SONG OF NAMIBIA in the Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey Handicap Hurdle. He has had a good rub of the green in his last few national hunt assignments and takes the hit here. He starts as top weight and has Davy Russell in the driving seat.

After a small break we move onto the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Steeple Chase, for which we have 3 runners. Starting off with PRESENT IN COURT who got a bit left behind last time out in a big field. Today’s race looks a better option and hopefully he can bounce back with Davy Russell in the saddle. Next is WESTERN HONOUR who is the mount of Keith Donoghue. He was dreadfully unlucky to exit contention so early on last time out in Perth. Hopefully he can get around safely this time around. Lastly is WESTLAND ROW, who hasn’t quite managed to get his head in front on his recent Chase starts. Denis O’Regan will be getting the ride and can hopefully do the business.

Next we take on the AXA Insurance Midlands National Handicap Steeple Chase for which we will have 8 runners in the 14 runner field. Top weight in proceedings will be MILL QUEST, who is one to show up on the big occasions and try his hardest. He has the skilled hands of Katie O’Farrell, who will also take 5lbs off his back. MEASUREOFMYDREAMS, will need to neaten up his jumping in order to get around here, Keith Donoghue is onboard. BARRA is the mount of Rachael Blackmore, and he hasn’t quite shown his best this year, we’re hoping for an improvement for this run. SWINGBRIDGE was a winner of the Killarney National Handicap Chase two starts ago. The further he goes the better, Denis O’Regan rides. Yard favourite NED STARK is up next. A winner last time out over 3m we hope he can run a good race, Davy Russell rides. CECIL CORBETT is the mount of Luke Dempsey, he beat Full Cry the last time they met, so has good form coming into the race. MONATOMIC will be having his first start over 3m and our stable lad Kevin Brogan takes the ride. Lastly but by no means least is TIMIYAN who will be ridden by Mark Enright, and that rounds up our runners for the Midlands National.

For the last race at Kilbeggan we have one runner, SANTANA PLESSIS. 2nd in his last two starts, Jamie Codd will ride him in the Book Online For Discounts INH Flat Race.

It’s a very busy day and we wish all our horses, jockeys and stable staff the very best of luck and a safe return.

Monday 15th

Today we have 12 runners across two tracks.

Firstly we head up north to Downpatrick where the majority of our horses will be running. In the first race, the Plus2Print Remembering Tony Oaks Hurdle, we have two runners in the five runner field. HAMMERSTEIN found the trip a bit far last time out and has been dropped back to 2m1f here. He won his maiden hurdle over this distance only two runs ago but will face difficulty in the weights. Keith Donoghue will be getting the leg up. Our other runner in this race is LETHAL STEPS, who was 3rd last time out and is only carrying 11st6 today. Dennis O’Regan has been booked to ride.

The next race is another relatively small field in which we have 3. First is EMPIRE BURLEQUE who is upped in trip, a winner of his bumper and yet to break his maiden over jumps. He is at the top of the weights and will have Keith Donoghue doing the steering. STEEL CAP is another with a similar profile to Empire Burleque, a first time out winner who is still learning his trade over jumps. Mark Enright is on board. Finally for this race is THREE IS COMPANY, placed in a PTP he is still an unknown quantity. Denis O’Regan is booked to ride and hopefully we can learn a bit more about this horse.

In the third race we have one runner, KASHMIR WILDE, yet to win a race she has been knocking on the door of recent. This should further her education and hopefully her and Keith Donoghue can build on Kashmir Wilde’s progressive form.

On to the next, the North Down Marquees Handicap Hurdle where we have RIO DE CERISY. He is in the reliable hands of Keith Donoghue today and looks to get around with a bit of improvement from his previous runs.

We have two runners in the IrishJockeys Support Downpatrick Maiden Hurdle over 2m5f. KILLINKERE is a horse who tries and seems to like it around here, with his best performance being 3rd here back in May. Denis O’Regan looks to try and repeat that performance and is booked to ride. Our other horse in this race is MONITION; he’s hit the crossbar on a number of occasions now and is looking to break that trend. Liam McKenna got on well with the horse last time out and claims a valuable 7lbs off his back. Hopefully the pair can improve on where they left off.

Our last runner at Downpatrick is SAINT OR SINNER who runs in the Two N & M’s INH Flat Race, the last race of the meeting. This will be a first trip to a racecourse for Saint or Sinner so hopefully he’s remembered his homework. It looks a competitive race but we’ve employed the trusty hands of Jamie Codd to guide this horse around for his debut.

Its a long trip down to our next meeting as we head to Killarney for the first day of their summer festival. VEINARD runs in the feature race of the day, the BoyleSports Handicap Steeple Chase. He has had a few runs on the flat to freshen him up and should be in good form for today’s assignment. Luke Dempsey is jocked up. Our second runner in this is DAKOTA MOIRETTE. Placed on his last two efforts when finishing, Davy Russell is on board to help him put in a clear round of jumping. Hopefully this pair of runners can run to their merits.

Finally, our last runner of the day is DINONS. A very consistent horse who seems to love chasing is giving away weight all around in today’s task. It’ll be a tough order and Davy Russell is given the ride in order to get the very best out of him.

We wish all our runners the very best of luck and hope they all get around safely.

Sunday 14th of July

Today we have 9 runners across three racecourses.

Our first runner of the day is RHYTHMIC MELODY, who runs in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden over 6f at Fairyhouse. This daughter of Dawn Approach will be having her first taste of racing and will have Chris Hayes at the helm. Her dam was a winner at 2 and placed on her first run. Hopefully this filly can follow in her mothers footsteps and produce a pleasing run first time out.

Our next runner at Fairyhouse is POUR SIOUX another first time out runner for the yard. she goes in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden over 7f. A half sister to three winners, the extra time will have done her some benefit allowing her to mature before running. Chris Hayes takes the ride. Also in this race is IS FANTASTIC another debutant for the yard. A daughter of Arcano and out of a Choisir mare, this run will be very educational and informative towards her future career. Declan McDonogh will be getting the leg up.

The second racecourse we head to is Sligo where TAPENADE runs in the Durkin Bros Electrical Maiden Hurdle. Yet to break his maiden, Davy Russell is on board to try and change that.

Next up is last time out winner AMOR VERDADERO. She runs in the I.S.F EBF Mares Novices Handicap Hurdle over 2m. She looks to extend her bout of good fortune. Davy Russell rides as they look to finish in the frame.

SKEAPING runs in the Clayton Hotel Handicap Hurdle where he will be carrying top weight. This will be a big ask for him so Davy Russell has been given the ride to get the very best out of him.

Finally for Sligo is LAST GOLDEN TICKET, who goes for the Ladies Day At Sligo Races INH Flat Race over 2m2f. This son of Sholokhov is making his racecourse debut and has Jamie Codd on board. It’ll be a competitive affair and we hope for an educational run which will teach us more about this horse.

Not to be forgotten, we send two horses across the sea to Perth. First up is BORICE, a very impressive winner last time out when scoring by 34 length. He faces only 4 other competitors in the opener. Daryl Jacob is on board and we’ll be hoping for another good run.

Our last horse on the list is PAT’S OSCAR, a faller last time out over hurdles looks to put that behind her as she makes her chasing debut. This is a track that Gordon likes and hopefully this mare can get back some good form. Daryl Jacob will be taking the ride.

Saturday 13th July

Today we send horses to two meetings; Limerick and Navan.

Firstly, to Limerick where BALLYDUNBLAZE is our first runner of the day in the Free Racecourse WIFI Mares Maiden Hurdle. This young horse has made a lovely start to racing and now looks to get a win over hurdles. She was 4th last time out and with the help of Davy Russell can hopefully build on her 4th place finish last time out.

Next up is YENDO in the Limerick on Facebook Handicap Hurdle. This lightly raced son of Doyen has been upped in trip as the penny has started to drop. He was a much improved 4th last time out and hopefully the extra 2f can help him see his race out. Jamie Codd takes the ride.

FROM EDEN goes in the Handipak Play Live 25th July Beginners Chase. Davy Russell and this horse have formed a solid partnership of late and they look to add further improvement to that tally. Hopefully they can put in a safe round of jumping and finish in the frame.

We double up in the next, the Galway Races Galway Plate Trial Handicap Steeple Chase. Firstly, MRS LOVETT has been holding her own in better company of late and aims to continue that here. Daryl Jacob comes over for the ride. Next is RAVENHILL, a model of consistency having only finished outside on the money on two occasions. Davy Russell takes the ride and will again be looking to continue his fruitful run.

Over to Navan where we send two runners. CAPTAIN POWER has been rather frustrating on his first start for the yard. He runs in the Cross Guns Gastro Pub Handicap. He will need to up his game if he’s going to feature here. Gary Halpin is on board.

Finally our last runner at Navan is DEAR DILLY. This will be her first time out as she goes for the Lynn Lodge Stud Maiden over 5f. She is the first runner for her dam so this run will teach us a lot about her. Declan McDonogh rides her and hopefully he can give her an educational ride.
