It looks like the rain is continuing to fall today as we head to Punchestown with 12 runners.
We don’t have anything for the first two races but dive straight in with 7 for the rescheduled Grand National Trial. It’s sure to be very testing with the ground currently soft to heavy. The top weight is ROARING BULL who will be carrying 11st 9lbs. He has followed up his Paddy Power win with some good performances and we have decided to claim off him with the reliable Sean O’Keeffe. GENERAL PRINCIPAL hasn’t quite been finishing off his races and he has another attempt here with Robbie Power in the saddle. MINELLA TILL DAWN came back to form in great style last time when winning by 13 lengths. He is in the middle of the pack weight wise along with OUT SAM and Davy Russell. We hope GUN DIGGER can return to a bit of form here and we have partnered him with Mark Enright. PRINCE OF SCARS enjoys a stiff test and heavy ground, we’ve partnered him with Denis O’Regan. Finally we have CHEB DE KERVINIOU who has been running very consistently since coming to the yard and will have Rachael Blackmore in the saddle.
Next we move on to the Grade 3 Novice Hurdle where we have two runners. FLOUEUR will be our first runner for new owner Mike Grech. This is a nice horse who showed a bit of talent last time out and will be partnered by Davy Russell. Secondly we have RUN WILD FRED who was none the worse after his fall last time. The conditions should suit as he’s a real stayer.
Next up we have BIOVERDIA in the Mares maiden hurdle. It looks like there will be a max field going to post today with 22 runners in total. It’ll be the mare’s first spin over obstacles and she will be partnered by Davy Russell.
We have another two runners for the next maiden hurdle, OSMOTIC was pulled up on his only start so far over hurdles so we can put a line through that. Davy Russell will ride. Our other runner is PENCILFULLOFLEAD who ran a nice race behind a top class horse. This looks an easier contest then some of his previous outings. Robbie Power will ride.
We would like to wish all our runners and riders the best of luck and a safe return.
