Thursday 12th of December

We only have the one runners today and that is CAPTAIN POWER over in Chelmsford. It has been a mammoth task getting the horse over there as the bad weather has caused huge delays with the ferries. Irish company looks to be proving a bit hard for this horse so he will be taking his chance in the UK. We have booked Adam Kirby for the ride to give him the best chance.

We wish the pair the best of luck and for a safe return.

Tuesday 10th of December

It’s a very windy and wet day out there so race conditions are going to be very tough. We have potentially 4 going forward for Tramore today.

We have the first reserve for the first race with Miss Aloud and we have provisionally booked Jack Kennedy to ride.

Our next runner is FEROCIOUS in the Maureen Mullins Award 2019 Maiden Hurdle over 2m5f. He’ll have blinkers on for the first time and it will also be his debut over hurdles. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

THREE IS COMPANY is the next runner in the Beginners Chase. He has been fairly reliable in his first two starts over fences so far. Jack Kennedy has been booked and hopefully the pair can go close.

Finally we have Lisa O’Neil and ONE DOWN in the Ladies bumper. He was a good 4th on debut and has hopefully learned from that experience.

We need 1 more winner to push us over the 100 mark for Irish winners for the season so far. Fingers crossed that comes today.

Thursday 28th of November

We only have two runners today down in Thurles ahead of a busy weekend.

We have a runner in the first with MILAN NATIVE wasn’t disgraced last time when he was back in 5th on his first start over fences. There should be a bit of improvement in him and Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

Our only other runner today is ENNEMI PUBLIC in the Holycross Maiden Hurdle over 1m7f. He is still a maiden but came a close 3rd last time. We’ve dropped him back in trip and this will be Jack’s first ride back after breaking his collar bone a few months back.

We wish both our horses and rides the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Sunday 17th November

There are two meetings on today, Cork and the second day of Punchestown. We have 10 for the Kildare track while 4 make the long journey to Cork.

First we will head to Punchestown where we have VYTA DU ROC in the first. This horse has been running around in point to points of recent and doing well, placing on his appearences. Jody McGarvey will be taking the ride.

We have two runners for the Nally Bros Supp Longford GAA 3YO, BRAWNY makes his first appearance for the yard and will have his first run over hurdles. Mark Enright will be taking the ride. Our other runner in this is GLOBAL QUALITY who is the same story making both his stable and jumps debut. Kevin Brogan will be taking the ride.

It’s a small field for the Frontline Security Grabel Mares Listed Hurdle for which we have two runners. BARRA will be having her first run since falling back in September, we have also chosen to put her back over hurdles and partnered her with Davy Russell. BLACK TEARS is a filly with a bit of talent and we hope she can put her best foot forward here. Robbie Power will be riding.

We have nothing for the next race but send HEREDITARY RULE to the Connolly’s RED MILLS EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle. He has done nothing wrong since joining us and has improved on each run. Davy Russell will be taking the ride.

We have two horses for the feature race the Liam & Valerie Florida Pearl Novices’ Chase and more interestingly they are full brothers. Big brother BATTLEOVERDOYEN looks to be a very nice horse. He won his chase in great style so we need to ask a harder question to see where he is. Davy Russell will be taking the ride. His little brother SWORDSMAN was a faller last time out in grade 3 company but won his chase before that. Robbie Power will be riding.

MINELLA TILL DAWN goes for the Ryans Cleaning Handicap Chase with Mark Enright in the saddle. This looks like an open contest and Minella has a nice low weight.

Finally for Punchestown, FANTASIO D’ALENE was a winner last time out under Lisa and goes for a winners bumper here. He will be ridden by Paddy Vaughan who will be claiming 7lbs.

That might be the last of them for Punchestown but the fun won’t stop as we have 4 runners down in Cork. TEXARD will be flying the flag for us in the Children Under 14 Race For Free Maiden Hurdle. This is a very large field of 24 and we have Daryl Jacob coming over for the ride. He is a nice horse who had two runs in France before coming to us and we would hope for a good run here.

CONFLATED runs in the next, a maiden hurdle. Fell early in his first run over hurdles but won his bumper before then. Hopefully he has learned from last time and we have put Keith Donoghue in the driving seat.

We skip two races and have THREE IS COMPANY in the beginners chase. He was third last time out and placed on his two performances before that. Keith will be riding.

Finally GLOBAL JACKPOT will be in the Annual Membership Handicap Chase and will be partnered by Daryl Jacob. A distant second last time, he aims to improve on that performance.

We wish all the horses and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Thursday 14th of November

Today we send 8 horses down to Clonmel. There was more rain last night so we hope that doesn’t interfere too much with our runners.

We don’t have anything for the first, but for every race we do have runners, we have two! So we start things off in the I. N. H Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle over 2m 3f. THUNDER DOWN UNDER looked like he needed further last time out so that’s exactly what we’ve given him. Keith Donoghue will take the ride. BRAESIDE was first reserve for Fairyhouse the other day but didn’t get a chance to run. He has talent and was unlucky to not win a bumper. It’ll be his first time over hurdles here and hopefully it’ll help him give that little bit extra. Davy Russell will be riding.

We don’t have anything for the third race and move onto the fourth, the Clonmel Oil Service Station Handicap. NOBEL ENDEAVOR is having his first run since the Grand National. He’s had a lovely long lay off and this is a nice place to start him off for the season. Davy Russell is going to ride. ELWOOD has been running very well, placing on both his appearances. Keith Donoghue will be riding.

Again we miss the next and have another pair for the sixth race, the T. A. Morris Memorial EBF Mares Chase. Only five have declared for this contest but it looks to be a very good contest. SHATTERED LOVE ran accordingly on her last run in October and we’d be hopeful of an improvement here. Mark Walsh will take the ride. Our other run in this is TINTANGLE who looked to hang right last time. We’ve put up the very hardy Luke Dempsey to try and keep her on the straight and narrow.

Lastly for the bumper FANCY FOUNDATIONS looks our leading contender. He came 4th in his only start last season and has done well for his break. Jamie Codd will be riding. FEROCIOUS is our other runner in this. We hope he will have improved over the summer. Lisa O’Neill will be taking the ride.

We wish all our runners and riders the very best of luck.

Sunday 10th November

Another big day ahead of us but at Navan this time as we are set to send 17 to the Meath track.

There’s a large field for the first race as we send 3 to post. CHERIF DE L’ISLE will be carrying the most weight of our 3 runners at 11st 2lbs. This will be the horse’s first run for us having been very hit and miss for previous yards. The confident hands of Davy Russell will be on board. PISTOL SHOOT has been very disappointing since coming to the yard and didn’t try at all last time, regardless of Keith’s efforts. We’ve changed jockeys and put Kevin Brogan on board. Hopefully this will do the job. Finally we have RIGHTDOWNTHEMIDDLE who will be partnered by Mark Enright. He ran well last time to finish 2nd at Ayr. We would be delighted if he could bring the same result here but this will be a tougher question.

We move on to one of the bigger races of the day the Grade 3 For Auction Novice Hurdle, where we send one of our bigger horses ABACADABRAS. He shed his maiden hurdle tag very quickly when winning by 5ls last time. He deserves to be put up in grade and this small field should be an advantage. Robbie Power will ride.

Another feature race and one we’re very excited for, APPLES JADE runs in the Lismullen Hurdle as she aims for 3 wins in as many years. She is a great mare on her day but will face serious competition from Willies horse, Bacardys. Puppy Power will get the spin and aims to be the 6th jockey to win on the superstar.

We send forward a small army for the P.S. Supplies Doors & Floors Maiden Hurdle. Our battalion is headed by a horse that could be anything, ANDY DUFRESNE. An impressive point to point winner and again in a bumper. This will be his first time over hurdles and we hope he can keep up the good record. Mark Enright will take the ride. Next is GOLDEN NOMAD who is well acquainted with the point to point circuit and has therefore plenty of experience jumping over obstacles. Puppy Power will be jocked up. GUN MERCHANT didn’t quite handle things last time out but has hopefully learned since then. Keith Donoghue will ride. SOLDIERS HILL makes up the quintet, who hasn’t done anything wrong in his last few starts and consistently tries till the end. Davy Russell will be riding.

We have just the one in the next, MIRACLE IN MEDINAH. He was 3rd on his last run back in January and has done well of a long break. He isn’t too high in the weights but will come on for the run regardless. Mark Enright will be riding.

For the penultimate race we have two runners in what looks a rather competitive Beginners Chase. I’M A GAME CHANGER has come to us from Hobbs’ yard and was a model of consistency. It would be great to see this horse run a strong race for new owners on the yard. Davy Russell will take the ride. Our other runner is MILAN NATIVE who was a smart Novice Hurdler should enjoy stepping up to chasing. Keith will be riding.

In the last race we have 3 runners. ONE DOWN will be ridden by Lisa O’Neill. This son of Arcadio cost €110,000 as a store horse and we hope he can live up to that price tag. FAKIR D’ALENE will be ridden by Jamie Codd and was a 20L winner of his point to point last time out. Lastly, is GETABAY who will be seeing a racetrack for the first time and will be ridden by stable lad Hugh McOwan.

We wish all our horses and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Friday 1st of November

We’re truly into the winter now as November has come around, and we’re heading up north to Down Royal with 7 horses for what we hope will be a great day of racing.

We kick things off by taking the covers off FURY ROAD in the CBRE Property Experts Maiden Hurdle. He was a winner of a bumper but more importantly he won his point to point. We hope he can translate that performance to his first jumps race under rules. Keith Donoghue will ride.

For the next race we have something we hope is a little bit special. DAYLIGHT KATIE runs in the Lough Construction EBF Mares Novices Hurdle, Grade 3. We’ve thought a lot of her for a while and her performance last time out proved us right. This is a different sort of race altogether and we hope she is as classy as she has shown us. Davy Russell will be riding.

Onto the feature of the day, the Grade 2 WKD Hurdle, where we send forward COEUR SUBLIME a real Grade 1 horse last season. This will be his first run of the new season and he won’t have it all his way, especially with Henry DeBromhead’s mare Honeysuckle lining up. It’s a small field so it looks a nice race to get him started for the year ahead. Davy Russell will ride. Another one who is ready to rock and roll is COKO BEACH who was an 8L winner on his seasonal reappearance and will have Keith Donoghue on board.

We have a break of a race before the Advanced NI Scaffolding Beginners Chase, where we take the covers off one of our best known horses, SAMCRO. A line can be put through last season as he was never quite himself. He takes his first leap over fences and has done very well for his summer holiday. Keith Donoghue will take the ride. DORTMUND PARK will also take his chance as we think chasing will be more his game. Mark Enright will have the ride.

The Ladbrokes Handicap Chase is next, where we have two runners: GLOBAL JACKPOT and MRS LOVETT. Global Jackpot is off a challenging enough mark but has placed on it before and the small field should help, Keith will ride. Mrs Lovett has been given a bit more time after her last run so she can come here fresh. Davy Russell will ride.

Our final runner of the day is PENCILFULLOFLEAD in the Jumping For Joy Racing TV INH Flat Race. This will be his first run and he is fit and ready to go. We have booked Jamie Codd for this son of Shantou in what looks a competitive contest.

We wish all our runners and riders the very best of luck.

Sunday 27th October

Carrying on from yesterday, we have 12 runners across two racecourses: Galway and Wexford.

Firstly to Wexford where DOMITIAN runs in the opener, the Casey Concrete Blocks Maiden Hurdle over 2m4f. A winner of his bumper back in June, this horse is having his first run since his summer holiday. This horse won a point to point so he is no stranger to jumping. Kevin Brogan has been booked to ride, which means we will be claiming 7lbs.

Next is SURIN in the 5 runner Casey Tarmacadam Mares Hurdle. This mare was 2nd in a Listed Hurdle last time out and we go here here hoping she can go one better here. Kevin Brogan has been booked for her too and takes 7lbs off her back.

CONFLATED goes in the next, the Casey Cattle Slats Maiden Hurdle. A winner of his bumper before going away for the summer, this horse will have a fair task ahead carrying 11st 12lbs. Luke Dempsey has been booked to ride.

Finally for Wexford is MISS ALOUD in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Pro-Am INH Flat race. She isn’t the most straight forward ride as she tends to hang left. That in mind we’ve tried to keep her to left handed courses. Jamie Codd is back on board again today.

Moving across to Galway, MOUNT IDA goes in the first, the Front Door Mares Maiden Hurdle. An impressive winner of her bumper back in April, she has her first spin over hurdles since winning her point to point back in December. Davy Russell has been booked to ride and we hope the pair can get things off to a good start.

For the Derrygimlagh Bog Irish EBF Beginners Chase we send two very nice horses. First off is the talented BATTLEOVERDOYEN who makes his seasonal debut. A Grade 1 winning Novice Hurdler last year, he has his first crack at chasing. He’s been doing well at home and we’ve booked Keith Donoghue to ride. The second horse in this race is GALVIN who was a good Novice Hurdler last year takes his first start over fences. Another one who has been schooling well at home. Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

The Marlin Hotel Dublin Handicap Chase is another race for which we have two declared. NAMBOUR needed a few runs to get back into the swing of things after a very long layoff. Mark Enright has been booked to ride. Our second runner in this race is TIMIYAN who can be tricky to predict. He has a fair bit of talent but it just depends on what mood he is in on the day. Jody McGarvey has been booked to ride.

There is a break of one race where we can catch our breath a little bit. TAKE A TURN runs in the 5th race, the Annesley Williams Rated Novice Hurdle over 2m4f. A winner of a Novice Hurdle back in April, Take A Turn has had a few runs on the flat to changes things up. This is a very small field which should hopefully prove beneficial to us. Mark Enright has been booked to ride.

In the Mayo Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Handicap Hurdle MONKSHOOD will be carrying top weight of 11st 12lbs. For that reason we have asked Liam McKenna to ride as he will reduce the burden by 7lbs.

Our final runner of the day is BETH HORAN in the Merit Medical Fillies Pro Am INH Flat Race. She came 3rd on her only start in a point to point to the very expensive My Whirlwind. She is a very sweet filly at home and we have booked Lisa O’Neill who rides the filly at home most days.

We wish all our runners and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.
