Tuesday 18th of February

It looks like the rain is continuing to fall today as we head to Punchestown with 12 runners.

We don’t have anything for the first two races but dive straight in with 7 for the rescheduled Grand National Trial. It’s sure to be very testing with the ground currently soft to heavy. The top weight is ROARING BULL who will be carrying 11st 9lbs. He has followed up his Paddy Power win with some good performances and we have decided to claim off him with the reliable Sean O’Keeffe. GENERAL PRINCIPAL hasn’t quite been finishing off his races and he has another attempt here with Robbie Power in the saddle. MINELLA TILL DAWN came back to form in great style last time when winning by 13 lengths. He is in the middle of the pack weight wise along with OUT SAM and Davy Russell. We hope GUN DIGGER can return to a bit of form here and we have partnered him with Mark Enright. PRINCE OF SCARS enjoys a stiff test and heavy ground, we’ve partnered him with Denis O’Regan. Finally we have CHEB DE KERVINIOU who has been running very consistently since coming to the yard and will have Rachael Blackmore in the saddle.

Next we move on to the Grade 3 Novice Hurdle where we have two runners. FLOUEUR will be our first runner for new owner Mike Grech. This is a nice horse who showed a bit of talent last time out and will be partnered by Davy Russell. Secondly we have RUN WILD FRED who was none the worse after his fall last time. The conditions should suit as he’s a real stayer.

Next up we have BIOVERDIA in the Mares maiden hurdle. It looks like there will be a max field going to post today with 22 runners in total. It’ll be the mare’s first spin over obstacles and she will be partnered by Davy Russell.

We have another two runners for the next maiden hurdle, OSMOTIC was pulled up on his only start so far over hurdles so we can put a line through that. Davy Russell will ride. Our other runner is PENCILFULLOFLEAD who ran a nice race behind a top class horse. This looks an easier contest then some of his previous outings. Robbie Power will ride.

We would like to wish all our runners and riders the best of luck and a safe return.

Sunday 2nd of February

It’s another jam packed day of Grade 1 action at Leopardstown and today we have 15 runners for the Dublin track.

We kick things off with 3 runners in the Grade B Paddy Mullins Mares Handicap Hurdle. SURIN is our top weight and thus we have put 7lbs claimer Kevin Brogan on board. This pair have won together before so we know they work together. BARRA will be partnered by Jack Kennedy and looks to have revived her career having been switched back to hurdles. Finally we have BLACK TEARS, a classy hurdler and was 3rd on her last appearance.

Next is the Grade 1 Juvenile Hurdle where we have OAK PARK. This horse was very unlucky to fall last time out when running well. This is a big step up in class and we hope he will be up to it. Davy Russell will ride.

We have another two for the next Grade 1, the Chanelle Pharma Novice Hurdle. CONFLATED has been showing us a lot on the track of late and Davy Russell will ride. EASYWORK is our other contender in this and he finished extremely strong when winning by 22 lengths over Christmas. Again it’s a big step up but he deserves to be tested, Jack Kennedy will take the ride.

JURY DUTY heads our 4 runners for the William Fry Handicap Hurdle. This past American Grand National Winner will have plenty to do with the weight he has been given but Davy Russell will partner him to hopefully finish in the frame. COLUMN OF FIRE will be carrying a whole stone less then Jury Duty and will be partnered by Jack Kennedy. SWORDSMAN isn’t too far behind him with 10st 8lbs and will have Mark Enright on his back. Finally with a featherweight, recent winner BRAESIDE will have 9st 13lbs and Luke Dempsey.

Another Grade 1 and it’s BATTLEOVERDOYEN in the Flogas Novice Chase. This horse could be very good, he’s still unbeaten over fences and this is a proper test. Faugheen is the obvious danger and we hope our charge can keep on the same path. Davy Russell will ride.

DELTA WORK goes for the big race, the Irish Gold Cup. It was great to get him to win the Savills Chase over Christmas and this is the next stepping stone to the big one. Jack Kennedy will ride.

Another big pot handicap follows, the Grade A Gaelic Plant Hire Handicap Chase. Last year DRF winner DALLAS DES PICTONS is bang in the middle of the weights but may have it all to do on ratings. There will be plenty of runners so we wish him and Jack Kennedy the best of luck.

Finally we have 2 runners in the finale, the Coolmore NH Sires Bumper which is a Grade 2. BIGBADANDBEAUTIFUL has been in great form this season and this has been a goal for her for some time. Jamie Codd will be riding. DARLING DAUGHTER won her bumper with a bit in hand last time and will have Lisa O’Neill back in the saddle.

We wish all our runners and riders the very best of luck on a very busy day.

Saturday 18th of January

We didn’t have any runners yesterday which gave us a welcome break. We have 9 runners in Navan today where the going is soft to heavy.

We have two runners in the first, the rated novices hurdle where there are only 5 runners. FLOUEUR heads the weights having won twice over in France. This will be the geldings first run for us and we hope he can keep up the good streak. Davy Russell has been booked to ride. TRONADOR is our second runner and gets a big weight for age allowance being the only 4yo in the field. Denis O’Regan has been booked to ride.

Next up we have LAST MINUTE MAN in the maiden hurdle, a considerably bigger field than the first race. The going will be more to his liking then last time out and he’s been in the money on his last two outings. Keith has been jocked up on this horse again.

We bring three for the feature Navan Handicap Hurdle Grade B; COKO BEACH, THE BOSSES OSCAR and CLONDAW NATIVE. Coko Beach is up to Graded standard, hence his lofty weight. The Bosses Oscar has been running very well since he has joined us and this will be his first step in Graded company, he will be off a nice weight and will have Davy Russell riding. Clondaw Native rounds off the trio and will be having his first start after a long lay off. He is kindly treated in the weights and we hope he can make a nice return to the track for connections.

Another handicap hurdle follows suit, where we have CHERIF DE L’ISLE, another who has hit the cross-bar on his most recent starts. Taking into account the claimers on the other horses this horse will end up being top weight. It’ll be a competitive race where Davy Russell will be in the hot seat.

Not letting up we have PRINCE OF SCARS in the Beginners Chase over 3 miles. This horse should improve from his last run, which he probably would have needed having been his first run over fences. Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

We skip the penultimate race and have one in the bumper; ESKYLANE. This horse was second on his last outing where the third horse has since won a bumper by 6 lengths. He made a lot of headway late on and you would hope he can build on that here today. Jamie Codd has been booked to ride.

We wish all our runners and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Wednesday 15th of January

Braeside won valiantly in the mud yesterday at Fairyhouse to finally break his maiden. He was a very deserving winning having been the runner up on so many occasions. Today we head to Punchestown where we have 10 runners on the 7 race card.

The first race is a maiden hurdle for which we have a glut of runners, 4 in total. BRAWNEY made a few mistakes last time before being pulled up last time out so we hope we’ve ironed those out at home. Brian Hayes will take the ride. GARRISON COMMANDER was another one who made a few mistakes on his hurdling debut but he stayed on to improve a couple of places at the end, he will be the mount of Donagh Myler. INSANE BOLT can be forgiven a poor run for his debut over hurdles and he takes a second stab at it here. Hopefully we will see a bit of improvement, Denis O’Regan will ride. Finally we have OAK PARK who ran above the odds last time to finish 3rd, we hope he’ll improve again from that and he is the choice of Davy Russell.

Our number of runners reduces significantly for our next race, where we have just NOBLE JOSHUA in the handicap hurdle. It’s a very large field where he will be able to get plenty of cover. He is well in on the weights and has had a few runs over hurdles now so should know his task. Denis O’Regan has been booked to ride.

It’s another big field maiden hurdle over 2m4f where we have COLUMN OF FIRE. This horse looked set to break his duck when getting it a bit wrong two out and coming down. This should be a similar task to last time and hopefully he hasn’t lost any confidence in his jumping, Davy Russell will take the ride.

Next up is DOMITIAN in the mares maiden hurdle. This mare is shaping up nicely however this looks like it will turn out to be quite a hot race, with the Mullins horses looking like the one to beat. Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

EMPIRE BURLEQUE is our next runner, in the novice handicap hurdle. This continues the theme of big fields today at Punchestown. His mistake late on last time ended his race for him at Limerick. We’ll be hoping for a cleaner round of jumping today and have put Kevin Brogan on board who will take off 7lbs.

The penultimate race of the afternoon is a handicap hurdle where we have JAUNTY WARRIOR. This horse has been switched to handicaps having found maidens a bit too competitive. Hopefully he’ll find his niche here and this will be another ride for our 7lbs claimer Kevin Brogan.

Finally in the bumper we have BETH HORAN and claimer Paddy Vaughan. This filly improved to come 3rd last time out. This looks like it will be competitive so hopefully we can see a similar result.

We wish all our runners and rider the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Monday 16th of December

We had another two winners over the weekend and a lot of placed horses, which pushed us over the €2,000,000 mark so far this year. We continue racing today at Naas where we have 6 runners.

Our first runner of the day is GOLDEN NOMAD in the Maiden Hurdle. This horse has been coming up against some stiff competition of late and this will hopefully prove an ease in class. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride and hopefully he can get this one off the mark.

We have a runner in the next, a mares maiden hurdle in the shape of MISS ALOUD. She has been a bit hit and miss and now will have her go at hurdles. She’ll be partnered by Paddy Merrigan for this bout and hopefully the pair can do well.

There is a gap of a few races before we have two in the Beginners Chase over 2m3f. It’ll be a full field of 18 runners with CARTWRIGHT the first of our two, he might find this a bit difficult as it looks to be very competitive, Keith Donoghue is on board. MONKSHOOD is our second competitor who will also have to put his best foot forward to beat some of this field. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

Finally we have the mares bumper, where we have another two runners. BETH HORAN lost her way a bit on her last outing but she be better suited by today’s going. Lisa O’Neill has been booked to ride. DAPHNE MOON is our other filly in the race and she seems to be enjoying her racing having been 3rd on both her appearances. Jamie Codd has been booked to ride.

We wish all our horses and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Thursday 12th of December

We only have the one runners today and that is CAPTAIN POWER over in Chelmsford. It has been a mammoth task getting the horse over there as the bad weather has caused huge delays with the ferries. Irish company looks to be proving a bit hard for this horse so he will be taking his chance in the UK. We have booked Adam Kirby for the ride to give him the best chance.

We wish the pair the best of luck and for a safe return.

Tuesday 10th of December

It’s a very windy and wet day out there so race conditions are going to be very tough. We have potentially 4 going forward for Tramore today.

We have the first reserve for the first race with Miss Aloud and we have provisionally booked Jack Kennedy to ride.

Our next runner is FEROCIOUS in the Maureen Mullins Award 2019 Maiden Hurdle over 2m5f. He’ll have blinkers on for the first time and it will also be his debut over hurdles. Jack Kennedy has been booked to ride.

THREE IS COMPANY is the next runner in the Beginners Chase. He has been fairly reliable in his first two starts over fences so far. Jack Kennedy has been booked and hopefully the pair can go close.

Finally we have Lisa O’Neil and ONE DOWN in the Ladies bumper. He was a good 4th on debut and has hopefully learned from that experience.

We need 1 more winner to push us over the 100 mark for Irish winners for the season so far. Fingers crossed that comes today.

Thursday 28th of November

We only have two runners today down in Thurles ahead of a busy weekend.

We have a runner in the first with MILAN NATIVE wasn’t disgraced last time when he was back in 5th on his first start over fences. There should be a bit of improvement in him and Davy Russell has been booked to ride.

Our only other runner today is ENNEMI PUBLIC in the Holycross Maiden Hurdle over 1m7f. He is still a maiden but came a close 3rd last time. We’ve dropped him back in trip and this will be Jack’s first ride back after breaking his collar bone a few months back.

We wish both our horses and rides the very best of luck and for a safe return.
