Tuesday 24th March

Today we have 6 runners for a soft to heavy Clonmel, which is nearly one for ever race.

COOLAGH PARK seeks to break his maiden tag over hurdles after finishing a distant 2nd last time out. Although he was 19L behind the winner he managed to put 7ls between him and his closest rival in third. Keith Donoghue has been booked to ride.

For the next maiden hurdle we have IMMORTALITY who we’ve decided to claim off with Kevin Brogan and his 7lbs claim. She doesn’t look the most straight forward type but we hope she can find a bit of improvement.

We don’t have any runners in the third race and move on to the fourth where we have EMPIRE BURLEQUE. This horse had a baptism of fire on his debut over fences and made plenty of mistakes. He’s had a bit more schooling and hopefully that’s done the trick, Keith will ride.

The feature of the day is the Boylesports Chase over 2m3f where we have DEATH DUTY and Luke Dempsey. It’s a small but hot field and this horse ran well at Cheltenham before getting tired at the end.

ROBIN DEUZ POIS was a winner last time out over in the UK and she will be partnered by Sean O’Keeffe in the opportunity chase. She remains in good form and goes here with the hope of getting in the frame.

Finally we have FRONTAL ASSAULT in the bumper. Third behind the Champion Bumper winner Ferny Hollow last time out at Fairyhouse. There could be a few nice ones in here but the bit of racecourse experience will serve him well.

We wish all our runners and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Tuesday 3rd of March

It is exactly one week until the Cheltenham festival and we were busy putting some last touches to our contingent last night at Leopardstown. Today we go to Navan for their rescheduled meeting from the weekend. The going is described as heavy for our 7 runners and it will be sure to be a very testing event. There are some nice prizes on offer and we’d be hoping to take some of it home.

Our first pair of runners for the afternoon are GALET D’OUDAIRIES and METAL MAN in the opening maiden hurdle over 2 miles. Galet D’oudaires had a nice introduction to hurdling last time out when fifth in a big field. We hope he and Daryl Jacob can improve for that run to finish closer. Metal Man is steadily getting better with his runs and will be partnered by Davy Russell.

Next up is FLYING RISK who we’re going to drop back in trip and have a go over hurdles. She has a bit of class and this will be a hurly burly race in heavy going and 23 runners. She will need plenty of luck and will be partnered by Daryl Jacob.

NOBEL JOSHUA didn’t get dropped after his last run so squeezes in the bottom of this competitive handicap hurdle over 2m 4f. Luke Dempsey will take the ride.

Another Maiden Hurdle follows suit with DESIRE DE JOIE, who has been in good form at home and has been running well of recent. He will be partnered by Kevin Brogan claiming 7lbs.

Our penultimate runner of the afternoon is I’M A GAME CHANGER in the feature Grade 3 Novices Chase. This horse is a real battler and might have found a nice graded race here. There are some obvious good ones to take on but the testing conditions should be what this horse wants, Davy Russell will ride.

Finally we have PRINCE OF SCARS in the Veterans Chase. He gets a handy mark here carrying 10st 13 and will have Daryl Jacob on board. He was a very good horse in his hay day and hopefully he can do enough to feature.

We wish all our runners and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Sunday 1st of March

The rain continues to fall as we head to Leopardstown where we have a few exciting horses out on show.

First up is LARQUEBUSE who took the step up to graded company quite well to finish 4th last time. This should be a bit easier for her as she takes on 7 rivals in the Mares Novice’s hurdle over 2m 4f. Davy Russell will be on board.

FAKIERA will lead the way for us in the next, the Donohoe Marquees Maiden Hurdle over 2m 2f. This horse took very well to hurdling last time, coming 2nd on his first spin over jumps. It’s a very big field again so he will need some luck in running. Davy Russell will be in the saddle again.

Next up, it will be a drop in class for MENGLI KHAN who goes for the Leopardstown Racing Hall Hurdle. This horse and Luke Dempsey have struck up a very good partnership bullying each other along and they pair up again today.

For the fourth race we have ZAMBEZI FIX who has been a tough horse to figure out. He is slowly getting better and will enjoy a strong staying test over this trip so conditions should suit. Luke Dempsey will ride.

We skip a race before fielding a trio of runners for the feature Grade B handicap chase. It’s a smaller field then usual so ours get in on pretty low weights. WOODS WELL will be off 9st 11lbs with Conor McNamara claiming 5lbs, the very tough FROM EDEN gets in with 9st 10lbs and will have Luke Dempsey while GUN DIGGER will eventually have the lightest of the field with 9st 10lbs and Gavin Brouder claiming a further 7lbs. There are some very seasoned tough horses in this field so they will be hard to beat but hopefully we can get one or two in the frame.

Finally we have two runners for the winners bumper. Last time out winner in the mud HOMME D’UN SOIR will be giving weight away as the only winner in the field. It’ll be a big ask but he should relish conditions again here with Jamie Codd in the saddle. Next up is the beautiful SAY GOODBYE this filly has a wonderful pedigree being a half to the exciting Kildisart and a full sister to The Big Breakaway. It’s very hot company for her first race but she is a quality mare. Lisa O’Neill will be in the saddle.

We wish all our runners and riders the very best of luck and for a safe return.

Saturday 29th of February

It’s the last day of February and hopefully not too wet as storm Jorge hits our shores. We have just the one meeting in Navan today where the going is heavy but hopefully raceable.

He will be partnered by Davy Russell.

Wednesday the 19th of February

It was great to get two winners yesterday and come away with the Grade 3 and a maiden hurdle. The horses ran very well in the Grand National Trial so we were very pleased. It’ll be another testing day at Punchestown as the ground turns heavy. We bring 10 horses with us and 1 reserve.

The card kicks off with a Grade 3 mares hurdle where we have 2. SURIN was brought down last time at Leopardstown so didn’t get a chance, she is already a Graded winning hurdler and shouldn’t be too far away with Luke Dempsey in the saddle. BLACK TEARS toughed it out in that same race at Leopardstown to come away with the win. The ground is much heavier here and Davy Russell will be carrying 2lbs overweight.

ELUSIVE REBELDOM was last seen bolting down to the start and subsequently not running. We’ve fitted him with a hood today to help him settle. Davy Russell has been put in the driving seat.

Next up is a maiden hurdle where we have 2 runners including the top weight LAST MINUTE MAN who has been consistently 3rd in his last three runs. He should enjoy the going and will be ridden by Puppy Power. FLAWLESS ESCAPE has been put back over hurdles having not quite taken to chasing. He’s off a good mark and Denis O’Regan will ride. CARTWRIGHT is in the same boat and switches back to hurdle and will be partnered by Byran Cooper. IT’S ALL GUESSWORK was disappointing last time but is back on home turf so we will be hoping for some improvement. Luke Dempsey will ride. We also have the first reserve Clondaw Native who is unlikely to get in.

We don’t have anything for the next two races and wait around for GLENVEAGH PARK  in the bumper. This horse comes from a family fond of a bumper and should be well placed here with Jamie Codd in the saddle.

We wish all our runners and riders the very best of luck.

Tuesday 18th of February

It looks like the rain is continuing to fall today as we head to Punchestown with 12 runners.

We don’t have anything for the first two races but dive straight in with 7 for the rescheduled Grand National Trial. It’s sure to be very testing with the ground currently soft to heavy. The top weight is ROARING BULL who will be carrying 11st 9lbs. He has followed up his Paddy Power win with some good performances and we have decided to claim off him with the reliable Sean O’Keeffe. GENERAL PRINCIPAL hasn’t quite been finishing off his races and he has another attempt here with Robbie Power in the saddle. MINELLA TILL DAWN came back to form in great style last time when winning by 13 lengths. He is in the middle of the pack weight wise along with OUT SAM and Davy Russell. We hope GUN DIGGER can return to a bit of form here and we have partnered him with Mark Enright. PRINCE OF SCARS enjoys a stiff test and heavy ground, we’ve partnered him with Denis O’Regan. Finally we have CHEB DE KERVINIOU who has been running very consistently since coming to the yard and will have Rachael Blackmore in the saddle.

Next we move on to the Grade 3 Novice Hurdle where we have two runners. FLOUEUR will be our first runner for new owner Mike Grech. This is a nice horse who showed a bit of talent last time out and will be partnered by Davy Russell. Secondly we have RUN WILD FRED who was none the worse after his fall last time. The conditions should suit as he’s a real stayer.

Next up we have BIOVERDIA in the Mares maiden hurdle. It looks like there will be a max field going to post today with 22 runners in total. It’ll be the mare’s first spin over obstacles and she will be partnered by Davy Russell.

We have another two runners for the next maiden hurdle, OSMOTIC was pulled up on his only start so far over hurdles so we can put a line through that. Davy Russell will ride. Our other runner is PENCILFULLOFLEAD who ran a nice race behind a top class horse. This looks an easier contest then some of his previous outings. Robbie Power will ride.

We would like to wish all our runners and riders the best of luck and a safe return.
