All the latest news from Gordon Elliott Racing

Friday 20th October

It was a fantastic day for all the team at Cullentra yesterday with 6 winners at Punchestown.

Today we have just 1 runner at Dundalk. SMILING ELIZA ran her best race here a fortnight ago when just losing out to Militry Decoration. She seemed to take well to running on the all weather surface and we hope that she can keep improving.

Thursday 19th October

Its was great to see Campeador and Cracking Smart win for their connections yesterday. Today we have a busy day with 10 runners at Punchestown.

MASTERSON, PALLASATOR and TIGER ROLL all run in the John Shortt Legends Race. We like to support the charity races as much as possible so its great to see such a good turnout.

SAMCRO was impressive when winning all three of his bumper starts last season. He makes his debut over hurdles today and we definitely think he’s a star in the making. He’s been schooling well at home and looks a hard one to beat.

BEN DUNDEE and SANIBEL ISLAND both run in the Punchestown November Handicap Hurdle. Ben Dundee has his first start for us after winning a maiden hurdle for Andrew Lynch last year. He has been working well at home and Davy Russell rides. Sanibel Island has also been working well at home and Jack Kennedy rides.

DEATH DUTY (pictured) didn’t disappoint us when winning at Tipperary last time out. He was almost travelling too well coming down to the last when he made a slight mistake but its all a learning curve for him. He came out of his race well and we are hoping for another big run from him today.

OUTLANDER is a previous dual Grade 1 winner. He’s in great form at home and should be capable of getting involved today.

KING’S SONG has his first start for the yard today. We are hoping that the change of scenery and the fact that he has a low enough rating in Ireland will be in our favour tomorrow. He’s been working nicely at home and Jamie Codd rides.

FELIX DESJY has his first start for us today. He won his only point to point start and has been working well at home. Lisa O’Neil takes the ride today.

Wednesday 18th October

5 Runners today at Punchestown

CAMPEADOR and THE GAME CHANGER both represent us in the Racehorse Ownership Rated Hurdle. Campeador is a horse which we think has a very big engine. He has been unlucky on his last two starts but hopefully everything will go his way this season and we will get to see how good he really is. The Game Changer is on good form after his win in the Kerrymaid Hurdle at Listowel last time out beating Ballycasey. We have kept Chris Meehan onboard as he claims 7lb so we are hoping for another good performance from him today.

CRACKING SMART is another exciting prospect for this season. He already has some hurdling experience after finishing second on his racecourse debut before going on to win his bumper at Fairyhouse impressively. He has schooled well at home and comes into the race in great form.

BRELADE (pictured) finished second at Gowran Park last time out and will have come on for the run. He’s got good novice hurdle form and we think 2 miles is the best trip for him. Petit Mouchoir is the obvious danger today but Brelade comes into the race in great form so we are hoping for another good run from him.

TURANGA LILLY ran a good race on her debut at Navan last month. She came out of the race well and has been working well at home so we are hoping for another good performance from her today.

Join The Gordon Elliott Racing Club

Experience ownership with 8 racehorses, plenty of opportunities to go racing, a share of the prize money and behind the scenes access for an ALL IN cost of €670 / £600 per year ( monthly and quarterly payment options available ).  Gordon Elliott Racing Club has eight racehorses in training and gives everyone the chance to be involved with one of the leading National Hunt Trainers in Ireland Gordon Elliott.

Our aim is to provide people with a way of being involved in a top racing yard at a fraction of the cost of sole ownership. Our members benefit from frequent updates,

The GERC have runners in both Ireland and the UK and we have a range of horses in training; hurdlers, chasers, youngsters and flat horses.

Currently in pre training, he is a fine big horse by Scorpion who all being well will run early next year. It’s fantastic to have a horse of his calibre in the Club – as you know he holds an entry to the €100,000 Tattersalls Bumper at Fairyhouse in April and although it is obviously very early days if everything goes to plan that is the main aim for him!

Multiple point to point winner will most likely start for us over fences but we’ll play it by ear and Gordon will no doubt find some suitable opportunities for him, he looks a really nice sort, goes well at home.

Has been campaigned largely on the flat. She has proved a very fun recruit to the Gordon Elliott Racing Club only finishing out of the money once on her 3 starts for us and is hopefully is a winner in waiting. Another who is on the smaller side – what she lacks in size she makes up for in guts, she’s a very genuine little mare who the Club is going to have plenty of fun with!

A recent winner for The Gordon Elliott Racing club, she has hit a vein of form of late and we hope she continues to thrive. Much more highly strung than the likes of laid back Dawerann she has been settling more in recent races which has been reflected in improved runs.

Winner of a point to point on her sole start she is a new recruit to The Gordon Elliott Racing Club. She has just had a nice break, seems to be shaping up well and could be one for the future. She will make her yard debut in a Bumper this winter.

Placed 4 times over hurdles and 4 times over fences, will run throughout the winter.

Placed in a NH Flat Race and also placed over hurdles. Will run throughout the winter.

A fun horse who has been a great servant to The Gordon Elliott Racing Club. He has been mixing it up over hurdles and fences and recently had a run on the flat in Galway, he rarely runs a bad race and we can look forward to plenty with him.

Monday 16th October

It was great to end last week with a treble at Downpatrick on Friday. We have no runners today or tomorrow but we are looking forward a 2 day meeting at Punchestown this week where we have plenty of horses entered including Campeador, The Game Changer and Outlander.

Sunday 15th October

5 Runners at Cork today

TELL US MORE (pictured) makes a return to action in the Grade B Handicap Chase after a below par performance at Cheltenham in March, he is fresh and well from his break and hopefully he can rekindle his form, Keith Donoghue rides.

DOCTOR PHOENIX also lines up in the 2m 1f Grade B Handicap Chase, he makes his debut for the yard and with some solid form across the water, we are looking forward to him making a good impact over here. Jack Kennedy rides.

We have BILKO in the Rated Novice Chase, he has been knocking on the door over fences and has the Cheekpieces fitted for the first time today. Chris Meehan rides.

HOLLOW TREE is another that makes his yard debut today, he seems to be going well at home and hopefully he can put up a good performance for his owners Middleham Park Racing Ireland, Davy Russell rides.

SECRET LEGACY is our final runner of the day, he was impressive when winning on his sole start in Tipperary, he give weight away to some of his opposition today but we hope he is more than capable of making it two wins in a row, Nina Carberry rides.
